I have angered the gods of the charity shop.
Since Thursday I have had €6 to spend and have visited four charity shops* but found nothing. This is most unlike me. I have not become more discerning as I am naturally a discerning person but lack will-power where charity shops are concerned.
Eventually I realised that it's this blog. The gods of the charity shops have granted me all sorts of delights and I am not sharing them with anyone, not even my 3 faithful followers.
So forgive me oh gods and here are my latest jewellery finds:-
* St Vincent de Paul, Charleville
St Vincent de Paul, Mitchelstown
Sue Ryder, Mitchelstown - newly opened - VERY expensive!!!!

There's a lot of catching up to do ...
and don't assume that because I stopped posting, I stopped buying. Oh no!!
Here's a whistle stop tour of my purchases since the end of August. Details have been added where required and if not stated all purchases are from the Limerick Animal Welfare shop, Parnell Street, Limerick.

my calves have to hold their breath for these boots but they're worth it
a home repaired child's cricket bat - well-used
vintage C and A
gorgeous 80s? cardigan, it's too big but I wear it anyway
DKNY lace dress
I love my faux fur, it's like wearing an Alsatian
French Connection - flirty and tailored at the same time
(Zara) white - patent - leather - brogues. Are there 4 more pleasing words in the English language?
I tried these on when they first came out but couldn't justify the price. In the intervening years, there are people I've forgotten, but not these shoes. And then this pair came in, my size and the love affair was rekindled.
Vintage 80's German silk. Tartan and paisley shouldn't work together but do.
I always wanted one of these heavy leather messenger bags and now ...
I love this authentic Norwegian cardigan inordinately - and then I go and take blurred shots of it
my favourite find so far. I love this Aran poncho. You have to careful how you wear it though or you can end up looking like an extra in Lord of the Rings
River Island banana bag with zips and studs
Paisley square from Second Time Around, Limerick
From St Vincent de Paul, Charleville
It's polyester, it's cheap, it has someone's name written on the inside label but it looks strangely fabulous on
More catching up in the next post - whenever that may be.
I'm off charity shopping tomorrow!

3 times a year
That's how often I estimate you find something in a charity shop that genuinely delights you. Something that makes the pulse race, the years fall away, with your name on it, that you can't quite believe would be in a charity shop in the first place but if not there, then where?
Today was one of those days for me.
I am in leather jacket heaven.
Photographed on my person because it needed a body in it to do it justice. I suspect it is a little large for me but I don't care.

A white leather/black polka dot bat wing 80's leather jacket
with leather tie belt and polka dot lining
and the obligatory massive American Football style
shoulder pads.

'Scuse the big, red head but anyone who knows me knows I don't photograph too well. And all attention has to be on the jacket.
Here's the fella that would have loved this jacket too!
